Classic Cloth Diaper Cover | Merino Wool Interlock

Colorway: Melted Hues

Introducing our beautifully crafted Merino Wool Cloth Diaper Cover, the perfect blend of style, comfort, and functionality for your little one. Made from a luxurious interlock fabric blend of 97% Merino wool and 3% Spandex, this diaper cover combines the exceptional qualities of Merino wool with the added benefit of stretch and length of wear time.
Choose from the natural cream or from our selection of expertly hand-dyed Merino Wool Interlock using professional acid dyes for protein fibers.  Our Merino Wool Cloth Diaper Cover showcases a stunning range of colors and hues, ensuring that each piece is unique and eye-catching. The acid dyes penetrate deep into the fibers, providing long-lasting color vibrancy while maintaining the integrity of the fabric.
The interlock fabric structure makes our Merino Wool Cloth Diaper Cover machine washable, ensuring easy care and added convenience for busy parents. The inclusion of 3% Spandex adds stretch to the natural benefits of Merino wool, offering the following advantages for your baby when used as a cloth diaper cover:
  1. Temperature regulation: Merino wool is an active fiber that reacts to changes in your baby's body temperature, keeping them warm when it's cold and cool when it's hot. This natural thermoregulation ensures optimal comfort for your little one.

  2. Moisture-wicking: The wool's ability to absorb and release moisture means that it can wick away excess dampness from your baby's skin, keeping them dry and comfortable even during long periods of wear.

  3. Odor resistance: Merino wool's natural antimicrobial properties help to reduce the buildup of bacteria and unpleasant odors, making our cloth diaper cover a more hygienic choice for your baby.

  4. Softness and comfort: Merino wool is renowned for its fine fibers and smooth texture, which means that our cloth diaper cover is gentle on your baby's delicate skin and minimizes the risk of irritation or chafing.

  5. Stretch and durability: The addition of Spandex enhances the natural elasticity of Merino wool, providing a better fit and increased length of wear time. The resilient blend of materials and interlock fabric structure make this diaper cover machine washable, ensuring easy care and lasting quality.

  6. Reusability: One of the amazing properties of Merino wool is its ability to neutralize urine odor when exposed to air. If the cover is damp with urine, simply air dry it and use it again for the next diaper change. This added advantage makes our cloth diaper cover an economical and eco-friendly option for parents.

Upgrade to our Merino Wool Cloth Diaper Cover and experience the natural, luxurious, and sustainable benefits of this incredible interlock fabric blend for your baby. With its stunning hand-dyed hues, exceptional comfort, enhanced durability, and convenient reusability, it's the ultimate choice for eco-conscious parents seeking style, practicality, and an extended length of wear.

SIZING/FIT

Please note that fit and weight ranges depend on the build of your baby. Knowing the rise (measurement from belly button, between legs & up back area) might be a better indicator of the size you need since length of torso plays a large role in diaper fit.

Wool Interlock Wash Instructions

Follow these simple wash and lanolizing instructions to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Merino Wool Cloth Diaper Cover.

Washing Instructions:

  1. Remove any solid matter from the shorties before washing.
  2. Turn inside out to expose the inner layer.
  3. Set your washing machine to a gentle wool cycle with cool/warm water.
  4. Use a mild, wool-safe detergent, following the recommended amount on the detergent packaging. We highly recommend Unicorn Clean products!
  5. Add the shorties to the washing machine and run the cycle.
  6. Once the cycle is complete, gently squeeze out any excess water or use a very low spin cycle. Do not wring wool items, as this can damage the fibers and stretch.
  7. Lay the shorties flat on a clean, dry towel or drying rack to air dry. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources, as these can cause the fabric to shrink.

Lanolizing Instructions:

Lanolizing your Merino Wool items helps maintain its natural water resistance and softness. Follow these steps every 4-6 weeks or when you notice a decrease in water resistance.

Quickly & Easily Lanolize with the Lanolin Rich Woolie Bar

  3. Submerge your wool item in the mixture squeezing the fabric to work in the lanolin, especially in wetzone areas.
  4. Let you item soak no longer than 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from the mixture and squeeze out excess water making sure not to wring your wool item.
  6. Rinse out all the soap in the item with lukewarm water.
  7. Squeeze out excess water being careful not to wring your wool item.

Traditional Lanolizing Method

  1. Fill a basin or sink with lukewarm water.
  2. In a separate container, dissolve a pea-sized amount of pure lanolin in hot water. You can use a small whisk or fork to help mix the lanolin until it forms a milky liquid.
  3. Add a few drops of baby-safe wool wash to the dissolved lanolin and mix well.
  4. Pour the lanolin mixture into the basin or sink with lukewarm water and stir to combine.
  5. Submerge the item in the lanolin solution first, and soak for a few minutes. Gently squeeze and work the lanolin into the fibers of the wet zone.
  6. Allow the item to soak in the solution for at least no more than 5-10 minutes so the wool fibres do not get waterlogged.
  7. After soaking, gently squeeze out any excess water from the wool item. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, ensuring all the soap is removed from the cover while leaving behind the lanolin.
  8. Lay flat on a clean, dry towel or drying rack to air dry. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources, as these can cause the fabric to shrink.
By following these washing and lanolizing instructions, you can maintain the performance, softness, and water resistance of your Merino Wool Shorties, ensuring it stays in excellent condition for an extended length of wear. Check out all of our wool care items HERE.
