    The Spray Pal Story:

The idea for the Spray Pal splatter shield started when our oldest daughter, who we lovingly refer to as #minispraypal 1.0, was 6 months old and had started eating solid foods. Her cloth diapers became a whole new experience. Based on advice from the cloth diapering community, we soon invested in a diaper sprayer to make the transition to solids easier. The problem was that sprayers = high pressure and high pressure + poop = an even bigger mess each time we used it! Dave, Mr. Spray Pal, was more than eager to jump into action. He’s amazingly handy and loves to come up with creative solutions. He created the first prototype for the Spray Pal shield in March of 2011. With a few design tweaks, we had a product that worked, was lightweight, easy to clean, and easy to store. The Spray Pal was born and brought to market in August of that same year!

As soon as we shared our solution with our cloth diapering friends, they wanted one for themselves. Though we were both teachers, with no business experience, we brought the Spray Pal to market with the encouragement and support of our community. We even got great advice from cloth diapering industry experts! Soon we were producing, marketing, and selling the Spray Pal shield on the side of our teaching gigs.

A few months later, Jen, Mrs. Spray Pal, was placed on bed rest for her pregnancy with #minispraypal 2.0. When Ryan, #minispraypal 2.0, was born at only 25 weeks gestation, the Spray Pal community forever became more than just a business page. Spray Pal fans became even more engaged and followed along for updates about #minispraypal 2.0 from his premature birth, 7 month NICU journey, and his life since coming home. One of the highlights was when his his cochlear implant was activated in December of 2014, and the video of his giggly response went viral!

Since then, we've gained momentum as not only the number one selling cloth diaper sprayer accessory, but we've worked hard to continue the mission to #makeclothmainstream™ and debunk myths that cloth diapering has to be overly complicated — it really can be simple!
